Ranch News

April 2012

How the time flies! Training season is happily in full swing! We have been blessed with wonderful horses and people to work with, and are very busy!

Our horses have been working great at the shows, bringing home a couple paychecks, what could be better than spending the day riding and chasing cows and getting paid for it, right??

Equine Affair was a great success, a big turn out for the ranch sorting and team penning clinics that we helped out with. Everyone learned a lot and the crowd was great with lots of questions and involvement.

March 2012

Officially the warmest on record, we have thoroughly enjoyed the weather! Days have been filled with riding and training as we begin to accept outside horses for training.

The horses and cattle are loving the early grass and turnout! Horray for spring!

Feb 2012

Holy Cow! It feels like spring!! With the past year seeming like nothing but rain, this is a much welcomed break! Who would have thought it would come in February??

The cattle continue to grow. This is our first year finishing a large group of cattle, we hope this will be a big stepping stone in our cattle division. It has proven to be a challenge, especially with the weather, but very rewarding.

With the aweseome weather, we have been able to ride and start getting our show horses back in shape. We are looking forward to our first show at Lazy H this coming weekend! And, OVTPA show season starting back up in March. We are really looking forward to brining a couple new horses to show pen!

Corn is FINALLY harvested! What a relief!! We were blessed this year with a larger harvest than usual. With this came the obstacle of 'where do we store it all?' Rob has been feverishly drying, selling, hauling corn to make more bin space. We can finally have a sigh of relief that all the corn is out of the fields.

Happy Holidays!

We were fortunate to be able to get to see the Knapp side of the family this Christmas in Minnesota. It was a wonderful time with family. We had a once in a lifetime trip to Ely, MN where we all went Dog Sledding! It was a fun experience, check out some pics on the fun pages!

Nov 2011

Our time this month was spent getting everything ready for winter. The cattle were gathered, sorted, and are now in the barns for the winter. They are all healthy and happy!

The horse training is winding down for the year. We had a GREAT year, with our business growing with leaps and bounds. Special thanks to all for choosing RL Valley Ranch for your horse training needs!
